My dedication to excellence and comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of maritime travel make me an ideal candidate to lead and facilitate memorable and secure sailing experiences for charter clients.
Chef Petro van Biljoen
Meet Petro, a spirited individual who has turned the ordinary into extraordinary, transforming an average childhood into a tale of daring exploits and entrepreneurial triumphs. From the early years of a typical upbringing, Petro discovered a passion for adventure that would shape a lifetime of exploration.
The journey began in the corporate world, where she quickly ascended to managerial heights. However, the call of independence was too strong to resist, leading to the establishment of not one, but two highly successful Insurance Brokerage companies. The daily challenges were relentless, but Petro thrived on pushing personal limits.
But life wasn't just about work for this adventurer. The love for 4X4 Safaris brought her face- to-face with nature's wonders, from navigating crocodile-infested waters to sneaky hyenas interrupting campfire serenades. Desert nights behind sand dunes and encounters with elephants became routine, with cocky baby elephants adding a touch of humour to the wild.
Switching gears, she found solace underwater, indulging in the adrenaline rush of scuba diving. Each dive was a retreat from the corporate chaos, a chance to commune with the ocean's diverse inhabitants, from whale sharks to mischievous eels.
The sky also beckoned, and Petro answered. From commercial Boeings to aerobatic Extra 300s, the adventures soared to new heights. Lomcevak manoeuvres tested her stomach's loyalty, making breakfast reconsider its life choices. Gyrocopters over antelope herds, night manoeuvres in a Military Oryx helicopter, and barrel rolls in a Boeing-Stearman—all added layers to an already colourful life.
Back on solid ground, water activities were also a conquest—waterskiing, jet skiing, parasailing—each a testament to her zest for life. But the maritime call was stronger. Selling everything, Petro set sail into the unknown with her partner, embarking on a nautical odyssey. Despite initially knowing nothing about sailing, she now boasts 32,000 nautical miles of experience.
Throughout adulthood, Petro balanced the thrill of adventure with a love for hosting and cooking. Culinary explorations began early, evolving into a global affair through sailing. Visiting 20 countries expanded her culinary repertoire, with each culture contributing to an ever-growing menu. Aboard the vessel, she earned titles like "Hostess with the Mostess" and "The Great Entertainer," delighting guests with a passion for meeting people and feeding them unforgettable experiences.
From the skies to the seas, Petro's biography is a testament to a life lived to the fullest, embracing challenges with a light-hearted spirit and a serious commitment to savouring every moment.
