NEXT TIME WE WOULD LOOK INTO POSSIBLY FLYING INTO TORTOLA. THE TRANSPORTATION PROVIDED US WAS EXCELLENT, NICK HERMAN DID A GREAT JOB ORGANIZING EVERYTHING TO AND FROM ST. THOMAS, ALSO, SHELBY OUR TAXI DRIVER WAS SO PROFESSIONAL AND NICE, GREAT EXPERIENCES WITH BOTH OF THEM. 

SAM, OUR FAST BOAT CAPTAIN WAS EXCELLENT AND SAFETY WAS ALWAYS A PRIORITY.

My family just returned from an extraordinary vacation in the BVI"s. Our Yacht consultant, John helped plan the trip from our beautiful Leopard yacht called "Reach" to our amazing crew. 

Captain James Minkley was a skilled sailing and yachting expert to Chef Matilda Kopra's exquisite culinary dishes. 

Capt. Jim had a great itinerary from popular spots to quiet getaways and Chef Matilda had the extra task of preparing gluten free meals that were delicious! 



Both Capt.Jim and Chef Matilda were the highlight of the trip with their easy, beautiful personalities.

There are not enough words to express our gratitude for such a wonderful vacation and week together. We’ve done some great family vacations, but nothing compares to this! 



The food & service were exquisite! We really appreciate the time you took to make every moment so special. Snorkeling, tubing, wake boarding, carrot cake, lasagna! All of it exceeded our expectations! Thank you for your calming & kind demeanor and for making us feel so comfortable!

A Dream Trip

What can I say? This was a dream trip that Michael and I have had for years. 

Sure, the BVIs and the boat were fantastic, but it was both of you that made the trip. PERFECT! 

On a scale of 1–10, this week has been a 12! I wish you both the best of luck this season and in all the years ahead. (You guys are so good, you don’t even need “luck”.)

Matilda's Guest Reviews

Matilda is one of my favorite chefs on our flotilla. The food was amazing. She kept up with us and we would have missed out on a lot without her.

This was our second charter with Matilda and she reminded us why we requester her. Caring, attentive and helpful at every turn. And the food was incredible! She noted when we weren’t feeling too hungry and adjusted the portions. She could not have done more.

Matildaaaaaa! What a living legend. She crushed absolutely every meal. There was not a single thing our group didn’t at one point say "wow"! How are we not going to eat like this once we get home. Can’t say enough about her meals, but she is also such a nice and genuine person! Always made sure we were all good around the boat and we loved when her and the captain would party with us too.

This was my second time with Matilda and she exceeded all expectations. The menu she provided was beyond amazing. Her skills for making diverse, rich on flavor, and beautiful presentations is outstanding. She needs to share her knowledge with others. Her attention to detail and making sure we were all fed and satisfied makes her a unique host. I will return and will request Matilda as our chef.

 

The Time Of Our Lives

Dear James,- Jim - Jimbo - Captain and perfect Chef Nicola.

Words are truly not adequate to express how very much we have enjoyed this week aboard REACH. Evening cocktails and appetizers, amazing meals, incredible sunsets and stunning views.

Every day has been unique with touches that only an experienced crew like you two could plan. Knowing that we were in your capable hands only added to an EXTREME sense of relaxation!

The girls (10 & 12) have gained a new appreciation for independence, trying new things and living without electronics! and they so loved paddle-boarding and beach excursions with James. 

Thank you for the time of our lives - we already miss you both - until we meet again.

What an adventure! Thank you for keeping us safe through the wind and waves. We enjoyed every moment of the food, boat, sun and water.

Swimming with the tarpon at night and sea turtles on our private beach in Caneel Bay was epic.

Nicola - the food was insanely delicious! Every bite should be in a 5 star restaurant. You have a real talent and I know your father would be proud. Thank you for sharing your art with us.



James - Thank you for taking us to all the awesome stops. Snorkeling in the caves that first day was something we will never forget. And your kindness to all those strangers that had gone adrift into the jetty or ran over their moorings. I hope the universe pays you back 100-fold for your generosity in getting them back on course.



Thank you for making our trip one for the history books! We were able to relax and enjoy every moment because we were in the best of hands.

Captain James and first mate Sarah were fantastic. 

They were extremely knowledgeable, friendly. They were the best hosts. She is an amazing chef and he made rock star cocktails. This was our 4th sail and they still took us places we had never seen. 

If we go on a BVI cruise again, we will seek them out.

As I read through this guest journal, it is obvious that you are special to many people. You are both so genuine! Thank you will never really say how appreciative we both are for your hospitality, but thank you for everything. You both entertained and catered to our group, it seems to come naturally to you.

Just amazing! Sarah and James are such an incredible crew and know exactly what we needed to feel 100% comfortable and relaxed at sea.



I have never experienced such amazing food day after day....and James knew exactly where to take us to enjoy the best of the BVI's! We have wonderful lives at home but we are VERY sad to leave! It feels like we just gained more members of our family!

Words cannot properly describe our experience this week. Mother Nature provided the canvas and you both painted a beautiful picture that will be deeply etched in our memories for a lifetime.



The food was simple amazing!!! I have travelled all over the worked but never have I had such flavorful creative special meals. 

I have been traveling to this part of the world for 20 years, you both provided the icing to a special cake.



James, you effortlessly moved us from point-to-point; and made each day special and relaxing at the same time.
