Meet our Crew
Captain Joshua Bode
Josh has built his career on the water, combining years of experience in the marine industry with a passion for adventure, exploration, and exceptional hospitality. From serving aboard private luxury yachts to captaining commercial fishing vessels, he brings a wealth of practical knowledge, confidence, and professionalism to every charter.
His career began as a mate and deckhand aboard luxury yachts, where he developed a strong foundation in vessel operations, guest service, and the attention to detail required to deliver outstanding experiences on the water. He later spent several seasons as captain of commercial fishing vessels, further refining his seamanship, navigation skills, and extensive knowledge of coastal waters.
An experienced professional kiteboarding instructor, Josh has spent much of his life sharing his love of the ocean with others. Whether introducing guests to kiteboarding, snorkeling vibrant reefs, freediving, fishing, or exploring secluded beaches, he enjoys creating adventures that showcase the very best of life on the water. His extensive boating, anchoring, and vessel maintenance experience, combined with CPR and First Aid certification, allow guests to relax knowing they are in capable hands.
Josh's favorite part of chartering is helping guests experience destinations beyond the typical tourist route. Whether discovering a hidden anchorage, finding the perfect snorkeling reef, or enjoying an unforgettable kiteboarding session across crystal-clear turquoise waters, he is passionate about creating experiences that become lasting memories.
Chef Christa Bode
Christa's passion for travel, hospitality, and the ocean has shaped a career spanning more than two decades. With extensive experience aboard luxury yachts, cruise ships, and in the luxury travel industry, she is dedicated to creating exceptional experiences that blend adventure, relaxation, and outstanding hospitality.
Her yachting career began as a deck/stewardess before advancing to chief stewardess and chef aboard private luxury yachts, where she managed every aspect of the guest experience. From coordinating itineraries and delivering five-star service to preparing gourmet meals in compact yacht galleys, she developed the attention to detail, adaptability, and personalized approach that define luxury chartering.
A passionate chef, Christa has created fresh, beautifully presented cuisine aboard numerous private yachts. While living on Maui, she further refined her culinary skills working alongside a renowned celebrity chef, gaining professional techniques and inspiration that continue to influence her menus today. Guests can look forward to thoughtfully prepared breakfasts, vibrant island-inspired lunches, elegant dinners, and homemade desserts, all crafted with fresh ingredients and tailored to individual tastes and dietary preferences.
Beyond the galley, Christa brings extensive travel expertise. She holds an Associate Degree in Travel & Tourism and has worked as a luxury travel advisor for American Express Centurion cardholders, designing bespoke vacations around the world. Her years of living throughout the Caribbean and extensive travels have given her a deep appreciation for island culture, hidden anchorages, and the unique experiences that make each destination unforgettable.
A U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Captain with a lifelong love of the ocean, Christa is equally at home guiding guests to secluded beaches, snorkeling vibrant reefs, or sharing a spectacular sunset from the flybridge. Her warm hospitality, thoughtful attention to detail, and genuine passion for creating memorable experiences ensure every guest feels welcomed, cared for, and completely at ease.
When she's not exploring new destinations, Christa enjoys running, snorkeling, hiking, discovering local cuisine, and spending time with animals. She believes the best charters are about more than beautiful destinations—they're about meaningful connections, personalized service, and creating lifelong memories with family and friends.
First Mate Arnold
At 14 years old and 17 pounds, Arnold is ROAM's beloved First Mate and longtime companion. Calm, friendly, and always content to be part of the adventure, he has become an important part of the welcoming atmosphere aboard.
You'll usually find Arnold relaxing in the shade, enjoying the ocean breeze, or quietly keeping watch over the day's activities. His gentle nature and loyal companionship add a unique charm to life onboard, helping ROAM feel warm, personal, and just a little different.
