Captain Sam and Carrie - We looked forward to this vacation for six months and all our expectations were blown away!  We had sooo much fun snorkeling, visiting the beaches, and eating all the yummy food.  Adrian and Dylan experienced so many firsts...from swimming with the turtles to kissing their first salt-water fish.  Thank you so much for working around our schedule and helping us track down our friends in the BVI.  Your patience with the kids went beyond...the harmonica will definitely make it to this year's Christmas lists!  Really hope we get to repeat this in the not-to-distant future!

Trip of a lifetime!  My kids have all said that this trip has moved into the #1 spot on the Family Favorites.  We can't thank you enough for being flexible with us to accommodate us (5 different individuals) in making this trip special.  We checked off all our "to-do" items and listened to your wisdom and added a few more.  Food was awesome, snorkeling was incredible, fun times around the table was a blast!  You both are excellent at doing your God-given gifts to serve others and I hope you are blessed for doing so.  My only suggestions for your future in this industry is to improve your attempts at humor (Sam) and never fly a Gamecock flag while sailing.  Go Tigers!  Hope our paths cross again in SC!

You know it's a great sign of an amazing trip when you never know what day it is! From the moment we stepped foot on La Speranza, we were amazed!
The snorkeling was the best we have ever seen. It made it more magical to have Capt'n Sam join us for a lobster find or a speared lion fish. We saw incredible creatures and loved every second.
Sam and Carrie, you made sure we had everything we needed and always surprised us with a little extra, like a tube ride on the dingy or fishing for tarpon or going for our first night snorkel.
The food was fantastic and you made sure there were choices for all of us! Sam even removed all the gluten from things for us! Ha!
The boat was beautiful and very comfortable. We were able to rest, relax and have adventures.
We hope to keep in touch with you both and hear about your excursions and travels. Thanks for letting us be part of your boat family!

I could write a novel about our trip…but first I will start by giving it an A+! This was our first experience ever chartering a boat - it was a huge bucket list item for us & also a huge splurge. From the first few minutes on the boat we were greeted with a delicious lunch spread, given a thorough tour, & then whisked off to our first snorkel spot.

That first night, Captain Sam suggested a sunrise hike which I eagerly agreed to. Setting an alarm for 4:50am on vacation wasn’t my husband’s idea of a good time, but he got up with me. We were given headlamps since we were hiking for awhile in the dark (I was blown away by this detail), & Sam was up early to dinghy us around to a good starting point. He went on the hike with us so we didn’t get lost & took pics for us at the top. It just got better from there. Our friend Chris (who came on the trip with his wife, Jen) was super interested in every aspect of Sam’s job. Sam answered his questions for days & let Chris try his hand at the helm, positioning the sails, the list goes on. That was really special for him. Sam gave us a proposed itinerary for the week based on the weather & navigated us perfectly so we wouldn’t be rocking at night, or fighting against any wind during the day. His knowledge of the islands & also weather conditions was very impressive.

We were interested in massages off the boat so he recommended a spot & booked us appointments. It was raining the night we were going off boat for a fancier dinner so he arranged a water taxi for us. He took us to Willy T’s, Soggy Dollar, Foxy’s, The Baths & tons of other little dive bars along the way. We got a taste of literally everything. It was also really great that he had items for us to use that we hadn’t brought – a dry bag for going on shore, snorkel gear, the headlamps for our hike, bug spray, insulated cups for us to use for the week, etc. I got to try paddle boarding for the first time ever & I looked behind me & Sam was on the other board so I wouldn’t be alone. He was patient, encouraging, beyond personable & just an overall joy to be around.

We found the yacht to be spotless and very comfortable. We were lucky enough to have the large stateroom & the bathroom was so big it felt like being in a hotel room. We had plenty of places to store our clothes & other accessories. I was also very thankful for ice cold air conditioning at night!

We were all so excited to have a chef onboard & not have to cook or leave the boat! This was a unique week for Sam bringing Martin aboard in Carrie’s absence, but together they operated like a well-oiled machine. Martin was absolutely wonderful. We kept telling him to stop feeding us so much so we could have a chance to be hungry for dinner! I took pictures of almost every meal & snack he prepared. From fresh poké bowls, to homemade rum cake, lobster Benedict for breakfast or Nutella French toast, our tastebuds could barely keep up. We requested a steak dinner for our last night which he prepared perfectly, & he even rose to the challenge from Chris to make a Doritos encrusted snapper which we all loved! By the end of the trip the ladies were hanging out in the kitchen to watch him work. It was so clear that he loves his job & took great pride in feeding us. He can also make lots of fun mixed drinks & kept our glasses full!

100% satisfied. Every day felt like 2 days crammed into one, but we had plenty of downtime to chill if we wanted to. We hit up everything on our list & got to experience so much more.

It was probably the best trip I've been on

Our 7 day on the boat with Sid and Jack were a dream come true. From the wonderful meals prepared by Sid to the amazing itinerary that Jack put together for us. We swam with turtles, hiked, saw incredible coral and marine life. The peace and tranquility we experienced left us energized. Sid is genuine, sincere and we truly appreciate the care of creatively of her meals. Jack is an excellent captain - knowledgable and safe. Kevin and I leave this boat with experiences of a lifetime and two new friends.

Sad to leave! Scott and I really enjoyed sailing around the BVI. It was a very relaxing way for the second leg of our vacation. Truly we were stuffed the entire trip from all the good meals. Sid made and not wanting to miss any. From the first day with our stop at Indian Caves for snorkeling til the last day hanging out in the giant claim floatie off of Jost Van Dyke it's been an adventure. It's hard to choose a favorite memory but I'd say it was eating the monster lobster in Anegada and swimming wit the three sea turtles off of Jost Can Dyke. Hard to pick, but my favorite meal was definitely the fish cakes with peanut noodles. YUM! Scott's favorite memory was jumping off of the cut. Thank you for the wonderful memories!

Hi Jack and Sidney,

Thank you very much for your email and lovely photos.  We had an absolutely brilliant time with you and were very sad when it came to an end.  Thank you so much for looking after us so magnificently - it was a huge amount of work for you both and we really appreciated it.  Sidney, the food you prepared for us for was truly wonderful and we loved every meal.  Arranging and preparing it all out at sea was a huge undertaking and it all came together absolutely perfectly. 

We so appreciated having everything taken care of by you guys so we could totally relax and enjoy spending every moment with ‘baby’ Harry (we’ll be calling him that when he’s 40).  Exploring the ruins in the jungle, cavorting around on perfect beaches, swimming with turtles (and that friendly shark), and messing around on the lily-pad/leaping off the boat - these are the stuff of childhood memories and exactly what we wanted from this trip.  Great itinerary guys!  Thank you also for Harry’s presents (very sweet of you) and for making such a fuss of him.  It really did feel as if we were amongst family.

Keep in touch, and we do very much hope to see you both again - here, there, or somewhere in between.  The guest barn awaits!

We were very pleased with everything associated with our charter, the crew, the boat and the destination.

1.Crew Friendliness: Both Sid and Jack were personable and we got to know them well over the course of our 7 day charter. Jack, answered my countless questions about the boat and sailing, and Sid was always ready to help no matter what it was.

2. Crew knowledge: We found the crew very knowledgeable on our destination, the US Virgin Islands, all the sights, attractions and best mooring spots. Sid and Jack were well versed on the operation of the boat and worked well as a team in all phases of its operational.

3.Quality of service: Everything was topnotch, Lisa and I frequently would say "we were so glad that we selected to do a charter.

4. Professionalism of crew: It was clear that Sid and Jack enjoyed what they do and it showed in the their professionalism and personable level of service they provided.

5.Value of cost of charter: We feel that doing the charter was a great value. We originally were going to get a hotel, rent a car and tour around by ourselves. But because of the logistics around doing this we considered a charter. We did not select the charter initially because of value but for convenience. In the end Lisa and I both felt the charter was a great value, when factoring in lodging, food, transportation, fuel, sightseeing and the overall fun factor.

6. On-Board Cuisine: We had almost all of our meals On-Board. All of the meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner were different offering great variety. The meals were well prepared, tasty and artfully presented. Lisa has a salt-free diet restrictions and Sid did a great job in the meal preparation to accommodate this.

7.Destination/Location: The main initiative to visit the US VI was to see the National Park on St John Island. They positioned the boat so that we were able to see everything in the park we wanted to see. Also we were able to coordinate doing the reef trail hike, in the down hill direction, and having the boat pick us up off the beach after the hike.

8.Water Sports: Our main water sport was snorkeling and we did it everyday some days at several locations. We also sailed to St Croix and back which was a fantastic experience we will not forget.

9.Overall satisfaction: Both Lisa and I loved everything about the charter, our biggest issue is that we can't wait to do it again in other interesting destinations.
